Stephen Houraghan here of and in this video I want to talk to you about brand awareness what is it how do you go about building it and how long does it take? now by the time you come to building awareness for your brand and getting your brand out there you'll have already completed quite a few steps you'll have your brand strategy your brand identity system you'll have your collateral your website any physical collateral you might have and now you're at the point where you've got a brand and now you just need to go out and put it on the map and that's where the brand awareness and brand awareness strategy comes into play and everyone from Gary Vee to Seth Godin talks about brand awareness but it can be a bit of an enigma for business owners and entrepreneurs about what brand awareness actually is and how to go about getting it so that's what we're gonna dive into in this video so let's start off by looking at the definition of brand awareness so the brand awareness is the level of consumer awareness of a brand it's idea and offered value as a market provider so essentially if you have brand awareness then people know about your brand they know what it does and they know what value it brings to the table but there are different levels of brand awareness the higher the level of brand awareness you have the more people that are likely to know about your brand and what it does and that's why it's important because this comes down to the buyer's journey so every potential customer that you have is on a journey they have different phases of that buyer's journey and when it comes time to deciding which brand they're going to purchase whether that's a product or service then they consider the brands that are out there in the marketplace and if your brand is not in their mind in the consideration phase then it's not gonna be considered and your brand is not gonna grow within that space so that's why brand awareness is really important it's about getting your message out there so more people know about your brand so when your customer is on that buyer's journey and they come time to making a decision about which brand to go with then your brand is in the mix for that decision so where do you start when it comes to building brand awareness or your brand awareness campaign is this branding or is this marketing well branding and marketing are two terms that you probably know are used very very interchangeably some people use them as the same word but in fact they're very very different but when it comes to your brand awareness strategy and your brand awareness campaign this is where the two meet now you will have built your brand already long before your marketing strategy comes into play
