hello and welcome to this debrief of bransfield the big 50 marker question one my name's Ben Wilson I'm the acca's expert tutor for the AAA paper you're going to see loads of exam technique advice in this video particularly around planning and you're going to see that I end up changing my approach to this question part way through because of some items I see later in the question and that shows the huge value of planning your answer particularly in the case study question I'm also going to be showing you how to earn lots of professional skills marks so pay particular attention to those because they make up 10 of the 50 marks in this question if you want more videos like this have a look on YouTube the acca's YouTube channel and you'll see lots more of my debrief videos that I've recorded for Acca I hope that you find this recording useful and best of luck for the AAA exam here we are in the acca's practice platform I always start by opening the briefing notes making a little bit bigger so that I can use it properly whilst also being able to see all of the Preamble information and I always start by making any general notes from this first little bit of info of anything that's going to be useful to answering the question so my general notes that I've made today's date I always want to know where I am in the phase of the audit and the year end for this business is the 30th of September September X5 so I'm three months before the year end so we're at the planning phase of the audit It's always important to note that because you need to make comments that are relevant to the specific phase of the audit it's something the examiner is really hot on the only other thing I thought was interesting um is this bit we're told there is an existing client we've been working with them for four years there's nothing else that's interesting in there so I'm going to open up the first of the exhibits the partner's email which is going to tell me the um the information that I need for the question and the the requirements and I always resize my screen so that I've got the briefing notes or sorry the either the exhibit or the requirement here on this half of the screen and in my word processor on the other half of the screen so that I can add notes in here as I'm reading stuff out of the scenario right as always um in question one I have to prepare some briefing notes there's going to be format marks so I'm going to start earning my format marks by bringing in the two from dates because that's going to form the the start of my briefing note so I've briefing notes and I've copied and pasted that information in
