CALIFORNIA The California Department of Transportation (DOT) has launched the National Coalition for Public Information about the Transportation Securing California (TSA) Challenge this summer. California is an autonomous driving territory. This is the first step toward creating a new legal right to autonomous driving in the state; it is a challenge that's been long overdue. The TSA Challenge starts in late October. It will allow Californians to vote to get the new California Highway Fund into place, so they can be as autonomous as possible. The TSA Challenge, which includes over 600 hours of testimony and workshops in support of the new California law, will help to ensure our nation's highways become safe. Together, Californians will advance the state's agenda to create a better road where all Californians can drive their cars safely, from a car with tinted windows and a stop sign on the road to a car that's self-driving in two to three minutes. There are currently 38 states along with the District of Columbia that have enacted legislation or issues executive orders regarding Autonomous Vehicles AVs. 12 states authorize testing, while 16 states and the District of Columbia authorize full deployment.

Since the advent of autonomous cars, the number of American drivers has skyrocketed. The number of people who have become drivers is increasing exponentially — and as more and more Americans begin to ride cars, so too has the number of drivers who are taking to their vehicles. While this change is only expected to have a small effect on the number of people making use of and driving the autonomous vehicles, the number of people who drive them could increase as the car models have evolved. We must ensure that driverless cars are accessible, with the help of the American government. We have had a driverless car for many years already. With the emergence of autonomous electric vehicles, there are many of the same features and benefits that come with fully human control.

When this happens, we no longer need to ask ourselves “Who should we drive next? What does the car need to do to make a decision? How do I drive it if I get the wrong car?” Here are some examples: What about the taxi cab that we all use frequently? What cars does it use regularly? How do we use the taxi service that it currently uses? What is our next best option? What does the car need to do this? Where do we go from here? In order to have this effect, we must be able to think of a car that is self-driving. This means, essentially, we must think about whether we should go the way of an autonomous automobile. It is easy and convenient to think this way; without any human interference, this does not make the car any worse, but it does make the car more valuable than other vehicles currently on the market. This is especially true if you consider the fact that self-driving cars only need a human driver to drive (the average human driving an automated car costs about 7,680 in the US, according to a recent study by the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CPR). That's more than one thousand dollars a year!
